═══ 1. Arieel Your Gateway To The Time ═══ Arieel Your Gateway To The Time Since I was unable to find a smart and nicely designed desktop clock which floats on top, but does not bother the user by hiding permanently the information which it is covering, I thought that was a smart thing to start with. And of course a calendar that shows the week and day of the year and be able to show legal holidays. A alarm which remind you of imported daily events with a stylish message box and a nice tune shouldn't be missed. And of course every thing must be as configurable as possible and support a lot of national setting and a hole bunch of languages. Configurable thru the system setup where this could be done or thru the preference dialog or command line parameters. NOTE: Just press F1 to get help from any dialogs in Arieel. What is new in Arieel C 2.0? ■ One time alarm ■ quick alarm setup ■ World time that allows you to select any timezone ■ Day Of The Year with every day in the calendar ■ Alarm time can be set in 12h or 24h mode depending on system settings ■ Improved help facility ■ Some general improvements How to order Arieel? Since Arieel is distributed as shareware, you may use it for a 31-day trial period, as long as you agree to the provisions of this license agreement. Why Arieel Reminds You To Register? ═══ Why Arieel Reminds You To Register? The purpose of (unregisterd) shareware is that a potential customer may evaluate a specific software, and find out if it fits her or his needs, and not to be used as an productive purpose. This is in contrast to a lot of commercial software that you just can buy and have to take whatever it is like. Those commercial software is often buggy an a customer wouldn't buy it a second time. People tend to attract resources with all kind of tricks, so in the real world people protect each other from doing so. Think of a music CD. You may listen to it in the music store. Then you can buy it or not. You may not take it home and яtest it under real conditionsя, then listen to it for two month then pay for it. And you may not return it after you have opened it. All this rules should ensure fairness. So please don't be sheep and try to argue with completely different rules for software and come with fantastic definition of shareware that no-one would agree on. I tired balance out the restrictions in the unregistered version of Arieel. And I DON'T want to bother the user and make her or him remove Arieel, but want to give the the registered user a little advantage. HENCE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Andreas Haack ═══ 3. The Time Zones ═══ The Time Zones At a first glance time zones seem to be pretty strait forward. There a 24 physical time zones with 1 hour difference each. But in reality time zones are a big mess. There are no international standards not on names abbreviations and when it comes to DST there are just observations. A country may have several time zones or several countries share one time zone or both. Time zones come in quarter or half hours. There are time zones sharing the same time (offset) but having different names and abbreviations, or are time zones that are on the same physical time zone but having different time (offsets). ═══ 8.2. The Language Feature ═══ The Language Feature The language is set by the -glng switch is specified as argument to Arieel Simply click an icon witch shows the flag of the language wish. The icons are created with the install procedure. The language specific abbreviation are taken from the POSIX-LCL files, that were created and copyright by IBM and delivered with the compiler. The IBM Licence allows me to deliver these with files with Arieel. They must be located in the locale directory under the Arieel base- directory and the LOCPATH variable must point on this directory. That is done with during the installation. ═══ 8.3. Coloring ═══ Coloring You could color almost every thing by dragging a color from the system's color palette on the target. The values are saved when the window is closed. To reset to the original state double-click the Reset Icon in the Arieel Install Folder. ═══ 8.4. Rexx Extension ═══ Rexx Extension Currently there are two Rexx Extension available. The rexx script files must be located in the bin directory where Arieel has been started. For information on how to write rexx scripts see system documentation in the Information folder. ═══ 8.5. Command Line Switches and Environment Variables ═══ Command Line Switches and Environment Variables Empty Page! ═══ 9. Ordering Arieel ═══ Ordering Arieel You must give us your name.
